Kayagofukin are made of what used to be mosquito net cloth carefully woven in the Nara Prefecture – the only remaining mosquito net production area in Japan, and embroidered and printed in the Wakayama Prefecture. Kaya Kiji Fukin are specialty Japanese clothes that are at first stiff due to the glue but softens with hot water. The result is a soft, fluffy and supple texture with excellent water absorbency that’s 1.3x that of normal cotton, it dries quickly, and is ultra durable – making is perfect as a kitchen cloth, tea towel or just about any other use around the household.
